m2nxt Solutions Pvt. Ltd.(A subsidiary of BFW Ltd.) recently took on an additive manufacturing project to produce a stainless steel Tube for the Oil & Gas Industry, which required a high degree of precision and control. They turned to Mastercam India to assist them with a suitable Robotic Programming method, so as to ensure that the part was built without the need of substructures. Mr. Sitansu Mohanty, Technical Director at Mastercam India, led the programming side of things and came up with the strategies to drive the 6 axis Robot flawlessly. The software used for the machining process was Mastercam & Robotmaster, which allowed the team to program and control the Yasakawa Robotic cell with precision. The material used for the Tube was SS 316L, a type of stainless steel that is known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, making it a suitable choice for the Oil & Gas industry.
The project was led by Mr Jagannath, the Chief Operating Officer of m2nxt Solutions Pvt. Ltd.(A subsidiary of BFW Ltd.), who was supported by their Technical Director, Mr Hariharan. Mr. Sameer Warghane, the Assistant Manager 3D Application, and Mr. Krishnaprayag KC, the Senior Robotic Application Engineer, were also part of the team and played important role.
The Tube project was showcased in IMTEX 2023, where it received praise for its precision and quality. The team was also supported by Dr. Jitender Chaurasia, a Specialist in Metal 3d Printing, Mr. Snehith Mathias, Lead Additive Manufacturing Engineer, and Mr. Sreerag K, Robotics & Automation Engineer, helped to ensure that tube was manufactured to the highest standards.
